What is connecting manually?

To connect manually is to open the radio station stream from within your music player of choice rather than clicking on one of the quick play links.

Why on would you want to do this?

There are a few reasons of which we can think. If the quick links simply aren't working for you or if you don't want OR have permission to download the leader file.

What follows is a guide to connecting to www.circle7radio.com via your music player for each of the four players we have quick links. Please note that there may be slight variations depending on the version of your player.

A Note on Firewalls

Manually connecting should be relatively painless. However, no plan is perfect, so you may experience a hiccup or two along the way. The most common problem related to connecting manually comes from firewalls. A firewall is a piece of software or hardware that protects your system by keeping out uninvited guests. This can often interfere with Internet activities and with programs that need to connect to sites on the Internet. If you are using a software based firewall such as Windows Firewall, Zone Alarm, or Norton, please make sure that your music player is on the exceptions list. Please consult your firewall's manual if you need help. If you are on a business network, please ask your network administrator for assistance.

WinAmp

  1. Open WinAmp
  2. Click the button labeled File in the top left corner.
  3. Select "Play URL..."
  4. Type, or copy and paste, www.circle7radio.com:5800 into the dialog box that opens.
  5. Click the "Open" button.
  6. Enjoy the music!

iTunes Media Player

  1. Open your iTunes Media Player.
  2. Click on the tab marked "Advanced" at the top of the window.
  3. Select "Open Stream..."
  4. Type, or copy and paste, www.circle7radio.com:5800 into the big empty dialog box that opened.
  5. Turn on your speakers / wear headphones.

Windows Media Player

  1. Open your Windows Media Player
  2. Click "File" in the top left corner, or hit Alt + F if you don't see it.
  3. Select "Open URL..." from the menu.
  4. Type, or copy and paste, http://www.circle7radio.com:5800 into the dialog box.
  5. Click "OK".
  6. Enjoy the music!
