Common Problems

How do I listen to Circle 7?

Go to the Listen section by clicking on the appropriate button to the left. At the top of the page that opens, you will find a set of Quick Play links. Click on the program of your choice to open the radio in that application. If you get an option box to save or open the file, go ahead and select the program of your choice and select open.

What music player(s) are supported?

So far, we have successfully tested our station on Winamp, Windows Media Player, RealPlayer, and iTunes. This is not by any means a comprehensive list of applications that can play our station but at this point we cannot provide personal assistance for any other programs. All four players mentioned above are free to download. You can find them at:

Everything seems to be working, but I can't hear anything!

Please check to make sure your speakers are plugged in and turned on, and that your volume isn't muted in your system tray. This happens to all of us from time to time. Many modern keyboards make it even easier to sabotage yourself by putting a handy mute button on the keyboard. If you have such a keyboard, I highly recommend pushing that button once or twice to make sure that you aren't accidentally muted. You can also check your volume settings in your system tray on the bottom right of your screen if you are using a Windows operating system (it looks like a little speaker). Please see Screenshot! I can't get the 'Quick Play' to work, what do I do?

When you click on of the Quick Play links, you should see a dialog box open in your browser. Please make sure that you open the file with the correct program. For instance, if you are using WinAmp, you will want the box to have WinAmp selected next to the "Open With" radio button. If some other program is listed instead, you will need to click the drop down box, and select the correct program. See Screenshot Quickplay. If you still can’t get the links to work, or don’t like the idea of opening a file to connect to the station, you can still connect manually from your music player. Please see the Support page on Connecting Manually for instructions on how to do this.

I only hear a 'server is down' message.

Occasionally we will have to take down the radio station for general maintenance. During this time period, you will only hear this message, "We apologize for the inconvenience." when attempting to connect to the station. The station server may, from time to time, explode in a huge ball of fire and smoke. If this happens, you may not hear the server down message. We do, however, still apologize for the inconvenience.
