Biography
A roller coaster ride in 2008 brought Char the honor of being named ‘Crossover Artist of the Year for 2008’. After her successful debut album ‘Secrets of the Heart’ was released in 2007, she and daughter Amber engaged in promoting the CD that raised healing vibrations to listeners. Sweet and pure were the tones allowing for angelic connections.
‘Sleepers Awake‘ intices listeners with a rootsy sound that is full to the brim of mother/daughter harmony and captures your attention as both sing of peace and higher truth. Many Beatles fans will be happy to hear ‘Let It Be’ which is most appropriate in worldly times of trouble and ‘Wade in the Water’ a song sung by slaves as they crossed the water to freedom.
From uplifting to passionate Char sings ‘Always For Me’ an original love song reveling in romance. The album keeps stirring inspiration as it features Amber Whitworth as debut soloist on ‘Waited ‘Til Noon’. This ‘Sleepers Awake’ CD is jam packed with enjoyable easy listening tunes.
Char has taken her skills as a songwriter and musician beyond the college degrees that she holds. As a previous university guitar instructor she uses her training and music theory to write evermore intriguing songs. Char holds two Master Degrees from Oklahoma State University and Southwestern Oklahoma State University. Complimenting Char’s credentials her daughter Amber holds a Bachelor Degree from Arizona State University in Arts and Performance. As if two is not enough Char’s husband Dr. Jack Butler plays keyboards for the duo. A talented family indeed! Let them capture your heart with their uplifting music.
